Usually, yes. Legacy Glass replaces the failed insulated glass unit and keeps the existing frame, for homes and businesses in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, and the rest of the Corridor. Replacement units are made to order and usually arrive in 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the project.
Why windows fog
A double-pane window is two panes of glass sealed together. When the seal fails, moist air gets between the panes and condenses, leaving fog or streaks you cannot wipe away.
Glass-only replacement vs. full window replacement
If the frame is still in good shape, we replace only the insulated glass unit and keep the frame, which costs less than replacing the whole window.
If the frame is damaged, we also offer full window replacement.
